Phone Scammers

March 30th, 2009

I've had a few calls in the last week from mainly mature clients who've had a cold call from a person suggesting that their computer was running slowly and asking the client to perform various tasks to allow this person to remote access their computer.

The caller has pretended to be from either Microsoft or the manufacturer of your PC.

Whatever you do, if you get a call from these people do not speak to them, do not let them talk you through anything on your computer. Do not do anything that might give them access to your computer and especially do not give them your credit card number to pay for any services.

I suggest that you obtain as much information as possible about the caller so you can report the matter to the police.

Yours sincerely,

Deon Attard
Managing Director
